Down 32kgs in 14 months!
Jan 31, 2026Today’s message is for anyone who’s tried before and quietly wondered, ‘what if it never sticks?'
Last weekend I caught up with one of the members in Why Weight Academy, and she has lost 32kg in 14 months.
But the number is only part of the story.
When we first met
I remember clearly when she first walked into my office.
She had just started my 4-week Foundations of Fat Loss programme and was enjoying it - but she wasn’t convinced this time would be different. And honestly? That hesitation is so familiar.
Like so many women, she’d had past attempts where the weight came off… and then crept back on again.
We’ve all been there, right?
Fast forward 14 months to last Saturday, and I honestly couldn’t believe the difference.
The confidence.
The calm.
The joy.
Not just in her body - but in who she has become.
This is why I do what I do. And seeing transformations like this makes every part of the work so worth it.
So I asked her to reflect on her journey:
What were the three key actions that helped you lose the weight - and the one thought that kept you going when things felt wobbly?
Here’s what she shared, in her own words.
3 key actions for success
1. Planning — especially in the beginning
“Writing a meal plan for the week, taking into account any social plans I had and working around that - tweaking calories and carbs on days I didn’t have complete control of my food.”
This is such an important one. Success isn't about avoiding life - it's about planning for real life.
2. Daily weighing — without emotion
“Weighing every day and looking back on the previous day to understand why the scale was reading the way it was — whether it was up or down.”
No drama. No punishment. Just curiosity and learning.
3. Being prepared
“Working on the road makes it easy to just grab something, so I made sure I had prepped food to take with me.”
Preparation removed decision fatigue - and kept her in control.
The ONE thought that kept her on track
To me, this is the most powerful part.
When things felt wobbly, she reminded herself:
“Remember how good it feels to see the scale go down.”
It’s so much better than losing control and then punishing yourself for it. Just get back into it and take the control back. Taking control back has been huge for me.
That’s it right there.
Not perfection.
Not punishment.
Taking control back - again and again.
Why I’m sharing this with you
Because if you’re reading this and thinking:
-
“I’ve tried before and it didn’t stick…”
-
“I’m scared to trust myself again…”
-
“I don’t want another false start…”
Please know this:
Progress doesn’t come from willpower alone. It comes from a clear plan, organisation, accountability, and staying the course - even when things wobble.
My amazing client didn’t do anything extreme.
She did the right things, consistently, over time.
And so can you.
If her story has sparked something in you - even just a small flicker of maybe this could be me - hold onto that.
That flicker matters.
